For a smoother effect, use flexible smoothers.

After covering all tiers, secure with skewers. This step can be done ahead of time for a firm and dry covered cake for decoration.

Steps 6-19.
Apply piping gel at the back of the
fondant and stick washi paper on it.

Cut wafer paper into a wave shape and using the steamer, carefully steam to create pleats.

Apply at the back of the washi paper using piping gel or edible glue.

Once applied, turn the fondant over, put the leaf stencil in the desired direction and apply royal icing to create lace texture. Let dry for a couple of seconds.

Once dry, use Green Pearl on the royal
icing parts.

Apply a generous amount of water on the covered cake and put the cut fabric on the top part using your hands to create movement.

Steps 20-26.
Repeat Steps 6-19. Once the royal icing is dry, mix the Rose Leaf Green, Green Pearl, Nu Silver and Honeydew and dust the entire fabric to create a satin shine.

Steps 27-29.
In a small bowl, mix the sugar pearls and Honeydew to change the colour of the pearls.

Apply a small amount of piping gel and stick the pearls on different parts of the fabric to create a lace effect.

Steps 35-41.
Take a small piece of fondant and make different sized pearls. They don’t need to have perfect shape. Let dry for a couple of hours.

Once dry, put the pearls in a small jar with a lid, add the dusts and gently shake to mix. Apply piping gel and put the pearls on the bottom tier.
